Özet
Play is an importantpart of childdevelopment. Children learn about their world by playing games. Children are social being sand they want interaction and communication. When children play, they can learn about them selves as well as others. Through play, children can learn to regulat etheir emotion sand interact with their peers, teacher sand environment. Play allows children to expand the irattentions panandin crease their intrinsic motivation. Play is a meaning fulpart of child development because it allows children to grow in allareas of development. This improves their ability to reachandex ceed development mile stones. Play serves as an outlet for children to discover their true selves and become who the yare mean to be. Based on the information given, this study, which was prepared with the as sumption that play is very important for the social development of children, especially in the preschool period, was created in order to explain the perception of play in preschool children and to examine the effect of play on the social development of children. In this study, which was created with the aim of explaining the importance of play in terms of social development in children in the preschool period and compiling the results by scanning there levant literature in this context, it was determined that play is a very important factor on the social development of children in thepre-schoolperiod.
