dc.description.abstractMigration is an important sociological phenomenon which emerges especially with economic, social, and political-based changes such as industrialization, urbanization, globalization, wars, regime changes and military interventions. As Durkheim states, the phenomenon of migration, which is thought to be inevitable due to the forrnation of anomie in society, arises as an important social policy issue in modern societies. Migration process is defined as the voluntary or involuntary movement of individuals or groups, temporarily or permanently, for different culture and settlements due to educational, health, economic, political reasons (Kolukınk, 2006). Migration has implications for both migrating individuals and communities in the country of migration Although negative labeling or perceptions towards migrants oc-curs in the countries of migration, it is seen that in the long term, the communities they are involved in can contribute to their development and adaptation to live in di-versity (Akçiçek, 2015). By calling the period we live in «the age of migration'; Castles and Miller (2008) emphasized the density of migrations and the universality seen in social dynamics.
