dc.description.abstractThe purpose of this study; To examine the effects of sensory integration on self-care skills and social emotional development in early childhood. Early childhood is considered the magical years of life. Developmental characteristics affect life in the period between 0-6 years of age. The importance of development at these ages has increased and research on early childhood has also increased. The World Health Organization accepts the age of 0-18 as childhood. Early childhood experiences, from birth to age 6, lay the foundation for all future learning, behavior and health. A strong foundation in the early years enables children to become well-adjusted adults. A child's early years can have lifelong physical, social and emotional impacts. Positive experiences and quality environments increase a young child's social and emotional development. Traumatic experiences or environments at an early age; may have long-term, harmful effects. Especially the period from birth to 3 years of age is very important for brain development. Early childhood; It is a period when brain development is rapid. Mechanisms and interventions to support this development should be implemented from birth. In early childhood, if the child cannot engage in age-appropriate games or movements; if muscle tone is weak; if the child is thin, has soft muscles; If he is clumsy and constantly falls, if he cannot perceive his body; breaks toys; does not like jumping, swinging or being swept off their feet; cannot cut paper with scissors; It is predicted that he needs sensory integration therapy. It is important to understand how it affects children's social and emotional behavior. In an increasingly rapidly changing and diverse world, the role of social and emotional skills is becoming more important. In the light of this information, there is a need to examine in depth the effects of sensory integration studies on the child's self-care skills and social emotional development in early childhood, which is one of the most critical periods of life.en_US
